It (2017)

Summary:

The story is set in the town of Derry, Maine, where children have been mysteriously disappearing. A group of misfit kids, known as “The Losers’ Club” come together after the tragic disappearance of Georgie Denbrough. His brother Bill (Jaeden Martell) becomes obsessed with finding out what happened to him.

As the group investigates, they each encounter terrifying visions of Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård), an ancient evil that takes the form of a clown. Pennywise preys on their worst fears, appearing in grotesque and horrifying ways. The children realize that Pennywise has been haunting Derry for centuries, emerging every 27 years to feast on the town’s youth.

With courage and unity, the Losers’ Club ventures into the sewer system, where Pennywise resides. After a terrifying battle, they manage to wound the entity, forcing it to retreat. The children make a pact to return if Pennywise ever resurfaces. The film ends with them parting ways, though a sense of unease lingers, setting the stage for the sequel.
